Samanta Lestavel

Jamie-Lee Xu is a pianist currently in her second year of the Master of Music Studies (Performance) degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, having completed her Bachelor of Music (Performance). She was awarded the Keith and Eileen Ong Prize for Piano upon entry to her Master's degree. Additionally, she received the John and Dorothy Vimpani Pianoforte Fund scholarship upon entering the Conservatorium in 2018, as well as the Molly Neale Memorial Award in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, Jamie-Lee also won the David Miller Award and the Sydney International Song Prize. She is currently studying under Dr. Jeanell Carrigan, specializing in a collaborative piano major. Previously, she has worked with James Muir, David Miller, Natalia Ricci, and has participated in masterclasses with Graham Johnson, Christian Müller, and Amir Farid.

Jamie-Lee holds an AMusA diploma in piano from AMEB and IMEB, achieved top bands in Music 2 and Music Extension courses for HSC, and received an Encore nomination. Her interest in collaborative piano began in high school at the age of 14 when she was offered the opportunity to be the choral pianist. She frequently performed with the two school choirs at various concerts.

Currently, Jamie-Lee continues to work alongside singers and fellow musicians, rehearsing and performing frequently with the Concordia Ensemble. She has participated in many productions with Concordia Ensemble, including Purcell’s "The Fairy Queen," Mascagni’s "Zanetto," Holst’s "The Wandering Scholar," and Viardot’s "Cendrillon," with more performances anticipated
